Getting older has it’s know effect to make your swollen blood vessels on your outer rectum and anus hurt and disable you from everyday comfort. Go to the bathroom as soon as you need to. When there is an urge, go to the bathroom right away. The delay will make it worse and worse. Your health comes first so think about that even when you are too busy.

Try elevation. Elevating your feet a bit with a step stool as you sit on the toilet changes the position of the rectum in a way that may allow for easier passage of stools.
